era，表示"时代，年代，纪元"，相当于age， epoch， period，虽然表时间，但它作先行词，关系代/副词的使用有三种情况，解释如下:
1、 era 在定从中做主语，关系代词用which/that， 不能省略。
We live in an era that/ which witness rapid developments in information technology.
2、era 在定从中做宾语，关系代词用which/that， 可以省略
It is an era of rationality（which/that） we live in.
3、 era 在定从中做时间状语，关系副词用when， 不能省略
It is an era when anything is possible.
era表示纪元，虽然是时间，但关系代词可能是that/which，在定语从句当中做主语或者宾语。当然也可以用关系副词where在定语从句中作时间状语。
